What does it mean to be "in" the Church?
Can Jews be "in" the Church when they don't even acknowledge Christ?

Matthew 23:31-38
​
"[31] Wherefore you are witnesses against yourselves, that you are the sons of them that killed the prophets. [32] Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. [33] You serpents, generation of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of hell? [34] Therefore behold I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them you will put to death and crucify, and some you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city: [35] That upon you may come all the just blood that hath been shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the just, even unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.
[36] Amen I say to you, all these things shall come upon this generation. [37] Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered together thy children, as the hen doth gather her chickens under her wings, and thou wouldest not? [38] Behold, your house (Jews) shall be left to you, desolate (abandoned to you)."
Are Catholics Anti-Semitic? No. The Catholic Church, i.e., "Catholics" are not "anti-Semitic". Catholics cling to Jesus words as outlined in Matthew 23 above; anyone, Jew or not, who rejects Jesus as their Lord and Messiah the Christ, are not in the house of God, therefore are, in fact, God's enemies. Their history, long before Jesus, points to how they rejected not only the foretold Messiah, but they are labeled as killers and stoners of the great prophets who foretold the coming of the Messiah. For this reason, Jesus said that the house of Israel was abandoned by God because of their grave sins.
This said, the Catholic Church welcomes Jews to repent and accept Jesus as Messiah. If they do not, Jesus words above apply. "If you are not for me, you are against me." Matthew 12:30.

ECUMENISM?
The word "ecumenical" comes from the Greek word "oikos", meaning "house". The councils of the Catholic Church dating back to the Council of Nicaea in 325 A.E. were convened as the "house of God", represented by bishops around the world. This did not include other religions outside the Catholic Church, "ex ecclesiam". The attendees of these "ecumenical" councils, household of God, were called to meet by a duely reigning Pope as members of Christen-dom, (Acts 11:26), "Christian" from the Latin word "domus" meaning "house of God".

Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, pagans, and even Protestants against the Catholic Church are no part of the household of God, Christendom, which begs the question, why would "Pope" John Paul II invite religious leaders outside of the household of God "ex ecclesiam" to pray along with Catholic clergy during a prayer meeting at Assisi Italy in 1986?
